Physiotherapy is a scientific profession concerned with the treatment of the musculoskeletal and movement systems of the body. Physiotherapists are University qualified and must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). They are highly skilled and trained in the musculoskeletal and neurological systems. They employ unique hands-on techniques in association with proven modalities and individualised exercise programs to assist patients recover from muscle and joint problems.

Do I need to see my Doctor before starting Physiotherapy?
In Australia, Physiotherapists are primary care clinicians qualified and skilled in the management of muscle and joint problems. You do not need a referral to see a Physiotherapist. However, your Physiotherapist will normally ask about who your Doctor is so that your Doctor can be informed about your condition and progress.
